Beauty Tips for The Traveler in You

As the summer months approach, I am sure you are looking forward to some sort of tropical escape or exotic expedition. Regardless of where you plan to go or what you plan to do, we all have to deal with long journey of getting there. Whether you travel by plane, boat, or train, we all know just how exhausting it can be getting to your vacation spot. Not only is it mentally draining but traveling can also impact the health of your skin and appearance. Not to fear though, here we have a few tips that will keep your appearance looking fresh and healthy throughout your travels.

One major issue we see when traveling is climate change. Not global warming but rather traveling to an environment completely different from your home. Usually when you travel to more humid climates, skin could become oilier. Or when you travel to drier weather, your skin might just dry out more than you’re used to. Then dramatic changes between the air in airplanes and airports also play a role in potential breakouts. The solution: make sure you are well informed of what kind of climate you are stepping into and try to clean your skin frequently to compensate for the change. It also wouldn’t hurt to go light on face products at least to let your skin acclimate somewhat to the change.

Sleeping is probably one of the hardest things to do while in cramp, traveling conditions. Whether you are in a car with 3 other people traveling hours away or on a plane where your neighbor has invaded your space, sleep is essential for keeping your skin healthy and glowing. So, if possible, try to make time for it at your vacation spot. I know as soon as you get to your destination, you are going to want to hit the ground running. However, it is recommended to take some time to recover. Power naps or sleeping in at least one day can refresh damage done by the travel time.

It is also recommended that you bring your own products with you to wherever your wondering heart might take you. While hotels do a fine job or providing shampoo, condition, lotion, etc. it is still crucial to your own health that you continue your regular regiment. Bring your own cleanser and lotion to ensure that your skin bounces back from traveling conditions.
